Situated in Ikwoto County of Eastern Equatorial state, Mount Kinyeti is the highest peak in the Imantongrange standing at 3,187m. The range has an equatorial climate and dense montane forests supporting diverse wildlife which attracts hikers around the world. It is accessed from the town of Katire.
This 8 days tour will give you an opportunity to conquer the highest point in South Sudan.
Day 1: Arrival to Juba City.
Arrive in Juba City where you check in to your hotel for the night. You will then spend the afternoon touring the city and rest at the riverside for the evening.
Day 2: Drive to Katire Town at the foot of ImatongMountains.
You will drive early in the morning to Katire town via Torit where you will stop for lunch. The journey will take 5-6 hours. You will spend the night at Imo Resort.
Day 3: Climb of Kinyeti Mountain to base camp A.
You will begin the hike very early in the morning at 6 after your morning breakfast (6 am) with the help of experience local tour guide and porters. We will set up our camp for the night at base camp A.
Day 4: Climb of Kinyeti Mountain to base camp B.
You will continue with the hike very early in the morning after breakfast to the base camp B where you will set up your camp for the night.
Day 5: Climb to the summit of Kinyeti Mountain.
You will begin your final climb in the morning after breakfast to the summit and then descend to base camp A where you will camp for the night.
Day 6: Final descend to town of Katire.
You will begin your final descend in the morning after breakfast (7am) to Katire town where you will spend the night.
Day 7: Drive back to Juba.
You will depart in the morning for Juba for your pre-departure arrangements with a stopover at Torit for lunch.
Day 8: Fly home.
