This 12 day tour will cover 6 tribes of Mundari (or Dinka), Lotuko, Lopit, Boya, Taposa and Jiye and gives you the opportunity to explore their rich culture. It will begin in the Mundari or Dinka cattle camps and villages where you will learn about the famous cattle keepers of South Sudan. You will then drive to Torit town and proceed to meet the Lotuko people before moving toLopit territory. You will then proceed to Boya Hills to meet the Boya people where you will spend time with them and move to Taposa people. You will finish off in the land of Jiye people before driving back to Juba to fly home.
Day 1: Arrive in Juba.
Arrive in Juba City, where our team will pick you up at Juba International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at the riverside or tour of Juba.
Day 2: Depart for Kapoeta by flight.
You will have an early morning drive to Juba International Airport where you will catch a domestic flight to Kapoeta. On arrival, you will drive to Toposa in a village called Mogos, one of the largest in Toposabelonging to the Mogos Clan. Camp Overnight in their village.
Day 3: Half day with Taposa people and drive to LopetJiye territory.
You will bid farewell to theToposa people in the morning and then depart for Lopet to visit the Jiye people.Camp overnight in their village.
Day 4: Spend the whole day with Jiye people.
The whole day will be spent with the Jiye people and their elders, learning about the culture and be you will be treated to an evening traditional dance. Camp overnight in their village.
Day 5: Drive toBoya Hills through Kapoetatown.
After breakfast, you will depart for Boya Hills with a stopover at Kapoetafor lunch. You will arrive in Boya Hills in the late afternoon where you will meet the elders .Camp overnight in their village.
Day 6: Full day with Boya people.
You will spend the entire day with the Boya people learning their culture. Camp overnight in their village.
Day 7: Drive to Lotuko villages.
After breakfast, you will depart for Torit where you will spend the rest of the day in Lotuko villages interacting with the people and their elders.
Camp for the night in their village.
Day 8: Drive to Lopit Territory.
After breakfast, you will depart forLopit territory to meet their people and learn about their cultures. You will spend the whole day interacting with the people and touring the villages around them. Camp for the night there.
Day 9: Drive to Mundari cattle camp.
You will depart in the late morning for Juba via Torit . There will be a stopover in Juba for refreshments before proceeding to Mundari cattle camp. Camp overnight in their cattle camp.
Day 10: Whole day with Mundari tribe.
You will spend your entire day with the Mundari tribe in the cattle camp and then tour the surrounding villages. You will camp for the night there.
Day 11: Drive back to Juba.
You will depart in in the morning hours for Juba for pre-departure arrangements. Your afternoon will be spent exploring the Juba town.
Overnight in one of Juba Hotels.
Day 12: Fly Home
