The Sudd Swamp is the second largest wetland in the world, with thePantanal of Brazil being the first. It starts from Mangallain the south of the country, thenstretches upto a distance of 500 km north toMalakal town. It is home to 70 species of fish, including Tilapia, Nile Perch, African arowana, Nile carp, Tiger fish and many others.

The Swamp can be accessed from Bor Town, a distance of 210 km from Juba city. Bor is a bustling town with some of the best accommodations and river transportation while you go fishing in the Sudd Swamp.

Recreational fishing is among the top attractions in South Sudan and you should take this opportunity to be amongst the few that have caught the record-breaking Nile Perch in size!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Juba City.
Arrive in Juba City, where our team will pick you up at Juba International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at the riverside or tour of Juba.

Day 2: Drive to Bor Town.
From 9 am we start our drive to Bor Town which should take over 3hrs. You will arrive at 12 and have lunch at Park Palace Hotel. In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride for 1hr to the island where your camp will be set up. In the evening, you will take another boat ride with the assistance of the fishermen to scout for the best fishing spot.

Day 3: Full day of fishing. 
After breakfast at 6am, you will go fishing in the nearby lakes for 5 to 6hrs and then come back for lunch at around 12.  You will spend your afternoon fishing till evening at around 5 when you will return to the island. Along the way you will have a chance to spot some birds.

Day 4: Full day of fishing.
After breakfast 6 am, you will sail to another fishing spot for a different experience till noon when you will come back for lunch. In the afternoon, you will spend your time fishing as you spot the hippos, crocs and different bird species.

Day 5: Drive back to Juba. 
You will take a boat ride at around 10 am back to Bor town where you will have lunch and thereafter drive back to Juba.

Day 6: Fly Home.
